Deep in the Game
The primary function of the WNBA app is to provide access to games and various functionalities across game pages, fan hubs, and score tabs. Without the ability to affect core UX or underlying code, we snuck in “quick wins” such as an updated calendar, date picker, stats layouts, game cards and new, team-based color theming to activate the game page experience.

Celebrating Teams and Players
We developed art direction methodologies to celebrate WNBA teams and players within the app, while providing extensive asset guidelines to help WNBA’s understaffed content team deliver against quick turnarounds. We combined a new type stack with expanded team-based palettes to fold in a holistic application of the W’s identity.

Latest News, Videos, and Profiles
We also refreshed other core tabs in the app, enhanced the original videos tab with a simple search flow and updated video controls, and added a new profile functionality to bring the app one step closer to becoming more personalized and socially activated in the future.
