Project Goal
Create a future vision for the Epic Games Store by concepting near and long-term features that dramatically improve the player experience.
Our team partnered with Epic to align on user needs, business goals, and future priorities. We covered Discovery, Market Analysis, Competitive Audits, User Research & Strategy, Design & Prototyping. I worked with a cross-functional team of research/UX strategists, a creative director, freelance designer and motion designer to conduct research and design what the Epic Games store could look like in 2-5 years.

12 Competitor Deconstructs, 9 User Interviews
Collaborating with a freelance research strategist, I helped audit product experiences of competitors and related brands such as Steam, Xbox, Discord, Spotify, PS5 and more, drawing insights based on Epic’s 4 organizational pillars (Sell, Scale, Connect, Play). We also conducted user interviews with PC gamers using Epic and/or competitor platforms. Our strategists managed Maxdiff testing, market research and feature prioritization for our strategic briefback.









Vision Concepts
8 Rounds of Iterations, 20 New Concepts
For 8 rounds of iterations, I led UX + visual design efforts for all identified features, referring to our feature prioritization worksheet and presenting concepts weekly to our client team. While we came up with 20 new concepts in total, we focused on fleshing out 4 key areas: Social Shopping, Reviews, Looking for Group, and Events.
